About Daddy…

Hi, I’m Jeremy.

I’m the owner, designer and cake ninja behind Designed by Daddy Custom Cakery. If you ended up on this page that probably means you want to know a little bit more about me.

Well here it goes…

I’m married to an amazingly supportive wife (who we call Mrs. Daddy) and we have 3 very energetic and super busy kids (2 boys and a girl).

I started baking with my mom when I was kid, but baking wasn’t something that men did - or so I was told. Back then there wasn’t a Food Network showcasing all the great male bakers. I didn’t bake again for years. I grew up, went to college and got a couple of degrees.

In 2017, I was watching YouTube videos when my daughter climbed on my lap to watch with me. The video playing was a Frozen cake with sugar cookie characters. My daughter looked up at me and said, “Daddy, make that for my birthday.” She was 2 going on 22 and it was more of a statement than a request.

So when your little princess wants a fancy cake, you put on your big boy pants and you bake it. I bought a few necessities and went to town on the cake and cookies. At her party, people asked where we bought the cake. No one believed I made it at first. A week later I had my first order and Designed by Daddy Custom Cakery was born.

I originally started Designed by Daddy to help support my very active kids and ALL their activities – dance, gymnastics, swimming, Scouts, etc., but I quickly realized I found my purpose:

Creating amazing, show-stopping cakes for people like you that take your event over the top.

I’m an avid lover of bowties and crazy socks. I went through sock transformation a few years ago and have never looked back. When we meet in person my socks probably won’t match what I’m wearing and I love it.

I’ve been playing the piano for almost 30 years and still remember those early lessons and all the practice. Music has been such a big part of my life that I’m not sure what I would do without it. I love music in almost all of its forms – rap and heavy metal can jump off a cliff.
